The Robusta Difference
The sylvester palm — also called the India date palm or silver date palm — is prized for its thick, diamond-patterned trunk and full silver-green crown. Our farm grows exclusively the Phoenix Sylvestris Robusta variety, which stands apart from regular sylvestris in three ways: larger caliper trunks, more pronounced silver frond color, and larger, fuller heads.
Every palm on our farm is field-grown right here in Vero Beach, Florida, giving it the root structure and trunk density that container-grown palms simply don’t develop.
From 7’ Overall Height to 9’ Clear Trunk
Our inventory of roughly 8,000 date palms ranges from 7’ overall height up to 9’ of clear trunk, with some specimens reaching over 20’ in overall height. Palms are graded as either specimen or Florida Fancy, the top tier for trunk form, frond symmetry, and overall presentation.

Cold-Hardy, Durable, Low Maintenance
Sylvester palms are cold-hardy enough to withstand cold snaps below 20°F — a level of cold tolerance most Florida-grown palms simply can’t match. They’re also disease- and pest-resistant, hold up well against high winds, and require low maintenance once established.
